Hello,

Dr. Rivera has done a great job encouraging people to subscribe to the
UCLUG mailing list. It is my hope that this list will act as a resource
for people who are interested in Linux, but have questions about it or
have encountered a problem and want some help. Collaborative learning
and problem solving is what this list is all about. Please don't be shy
about e-mailing this list if you would like to.

To send an e-mail to the UCLUG mailing list, send it to the following
address:

uclug at lists.utica.edu

(Note the word "lists" in that address -- it is very important).

Sending an e-mail to this address means that a copy will be sent to
everyone who subscribes to the list (including yourself). If you are
replying to a message sent to the list by someone else, please direct
your reply back to the list so everyone can see it, instead of replying
to the original sender. Also, please read the welcome message you
received when you subscribed. It contains mailing list rules, as well
as some good information about list usage and some general guidelines
for posting messages.

If you have any questions about using the list, please send them to
uclug at lists.utica.edu so that other people may benefit from the answers
you get. On mailing lists of this type, it is often the case that one
person asks a question and it turns out that many people were wondering
the same thing, but everyone was afraid to ask. Please, don't be afraid!

Happy posting!

     Sincerely,
     Dave Parker
     (UCLUG mailing list moderator)
